Course Description (NW – Symposium 2023):

The celebration for the end of the season. See old friends and make new ones from your snowsports family!



Additional Event Details:

We will be based out of The Riverhouse. Make sure and register for the Awards Banquet, where we will be honoring our award winners, and anniversary year members. Come join us for fun in the sun at Mt. Bachelor!

Mt. Bachelor is supporting this event with lift tickets for those who do not have a season pass. Details on how to access the lift tickets will be sent out ahead of the event.

ALPINE-Looking for fun while you learn the “why’s” of some drills, and how they effectively develop movement patterns? If so, during this session, you’ll spend time applying the drills and their tactical application in varying terrain and conditions to better enhance your edging, rotary, and pressure movements with balance all around, and of course having fun throughout.


Pitching it Up-Sat (6 CEUs)

ALPINE-For those of us who just don’t get enough time exploring steeper pitches, this clinic is for you. You’ll work on various tactics and techniques on how to get down the pitches, become more comfortable with the pitch, and of course, having fun.

This session will look at building relationships, strategies and tactics for working with the senior; such as low impact alternatives better allowing the senior to ski a wider variety of terrain with less fatigue. Isn’t that what we all want – more gain, less pain?


MA with the FUNdamentals-Sat (6 CEUs)
     April 15, 2023 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

SNOWBOARD-How to connect movement analysis and the fundamentals. How to train our eye to see movements within the framework of the fundamentals. Plan to utilize the fundamentals to build versatility within and progress our own riding.


Fun Sessions-Sat (6 CEUs)

SNOWBOARD-How to build a fun, session style learning environment for your group. Traditionally used in parks, a session can be utilized in all kinds of terrain, for all kinds of movements, outcomes and goals. We will go over how to create the environment, utilize those great teaching skills and people skills, and go session some fun stuff on our snowboards. Let the learning happen through that.


All Mountain, All the Time-Sat (6 CEUs)
     April 15, 2023 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

TELEMARK – This session will look at different approaches to lead change for different terrain around the mountain. Let’s see where the “lead” takes us.


Improve My Skiing-Sat (6 CEUs)
     April 15, 2023 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

ALPINE-In this clinic you will learn to differentiate between cause and effect by developing your eye to unveil the cause. You will better understand what the ski is doing and why. Guided by a seasoned veteran of the craft, you will better understand your movements, why you make them and how to make them more efficient, all the while, having lots of fun sliding on the snow.


Skate & Kick-Sat (6 CEUs)
     April 15, 2023 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

CROSS COUNTRY – In the morning we will work though how the double pole technique has changed and get us efficient in using it. In the afternoon, we will work on better understanding “you are kicking late” in classic.


Tip It to Rip It-Sat (6 CEUs)

ALPINE – Just sayin’, what else would you want to do looking at all that great corduroy? This clinic will explore the art and excitement of carving in a safe and rip-roaring fun atmosphere. Ski clean, efficient, turns, tip to tail while exploring the hill and leaving trenches all over.

CROSS COUNTRY – During the morning skate, we will spend time learning, and exploring, how the upper body and arms work in skate. In the afternoon, we will explore how to use the feet and legs in class, and ditch the poles.
