Course Description:
The Bi-Ski Level 2 On-Snow Assessment measures your ability to teach bi-ski students against the PSIA-AASI Adaptive Level 2 National Standard. Candidates demonstrate equipment set-up and fit, safe loading and unloading, tethered and independent skiing, and lesson delivery for students with a range of physical abilities.
WHAT TO EXPECT
– Equipment competency – Select, adjust and fit a bi-ski to the individual student, including bucket, outriggers, fixed or articulating hardware, and tethers.
– Skiing and tethering skills – Demonstrate controlled, rhythmic tethered descents on intermediate terrain while managing speed, line and the student’s comfort.
– Teaching and people skills – Conduct a lesson segment that shows accurate movement analysis, appropriate progressions, and clear communication with the student and any assistants.
Review the PSIA-NW Adaptive Certification Guide, the Bi-Ski Exam Information sheet, and complete your Bi-Mono Ski Development Log before attending. Adaptive Level 1 certification is a prerequisite.
