Course Description:

The Bi-Ski Level 3 On-Snow Assessment evaluates bi-ski teaching and skiing at the PSIA-AASI Adaptive Level 3 National Standard. At this level candidates are expected to demonstrate expert-level versatility – adapting equipment, tethering technique and lesson design for students with complex needs across a wide variety of terrain and snow conditions.

WHAT TO EXPECT

– Advanced tethering and independent skiing – Maintain control, rhythm and student security on advanced terrain, variable snow, and in dynamic situations.

– Complex equipment decisions – Justify set-up choices for students with significant physical, sensory or cognitive involvement, and adjust on the fly as the lesson develops.

– Expert teaching – Deliver a lesson that demonstrates sophisticated movement analysis, creative problem solving, and the ability to explain the reasoning behind every choice.

Adaptive Level 2 certification in bi-ski is a prerequisite. Review the PSIA-NW Adaptive Certification Guide and the Bi-Ski Exam Information sheet, and bring a completed development log.

Make sure you are familiar with, and know, the appropriate section(s) of the Adaptive Certification Guide and the National Adaptive Standards. And that you have talked with your trainer on expectations and your readiness for the exam.
