Course Description:
The Mono-Ski Level 3 Assessment evaluates mono-ski teaching at the PSIA-AASI Adaptive Level 3 National Standard. Candidates demonstrate the ability to take independent mono-skiers into advanced terrain and dynamic performance, and to teach students with significant physical involvement.
WHAT TO EXPECT
– Advanced performance coaching – Develop carved, dynamic mono-ski turns and coach students confidently in steeps, bumps and variable snow.
– Complex set-ups – Adapt equipment for high-level spinal cord injury, limited trunk control, or combined conditions, and defend each choice technically.
– Expert teaching and leadership – Demonstrate precise movement analysis, creative problem solving, and the ability to mentor other adaptive instructors.
Adaptive Level 2 mono-ski certification is a prerequisite. Review the PSIA-NW Adaptive Certification Guide and bring a completed Bi-Mono Ski Development Log.
