Course Description:
Are you ready to test your teaching skills in the intermediate zone of snowboard instructor certification? This course is designed for the aspiring snowboard Level II instructor who is seeking assessment on their teaching and people skills performance compared to the AASI National Standards. Participants will explore the application of the Teaching and People Skills Fundamentals in intermediate and advanced terrain, conditions, and activities while receiving targeted evaluation and feedback. The course emphasizes adaptability to teaching individuals as part of a group in intermediate and advanced terrain to be evaluated to the AASI Level II Teaching standards. This assessment is the evaluative teaching step toward completing Level II certification.

Learning Experiences:
Specific activities will vary depending on group, terrain, and conditions and typically include:
• Teaching students in the intermediate or advanced zone of the mountain.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, successful participants will be able to:
• Demonstrate consistency, accuracy, and adaptability in Level II teaching assessment activities.
• Apply the Teaching and People Skills Fundamentals to varied teaching scenarios consistently.
Prerequisite(s):
• AASI Level I Certification
• Ability to ride confidently and safely in intermediate terrain and conditions, including steeps, bumps, off-piste, and freestyle features
• Familiarity with Level II assessment activities and assessment criteria

If registering for the same module more than one time in the season, you agree you will not be eligible to receive a refund if you cancel, or not show up to, the second exam, you hold a spot from someone else being able to register for the exam. Even if you see a waitlist.
Exam Modules in Entirety
Please note, to complete your certification, all modules, including the professional development online exam, have to be successfully completed in the Northwest, partial modules completed in another division do not cross over.
Know Ahead
Make sure you are familiar with, and know, the appropriate section(s) of the Snowboard Certification Guide and the National Snowboard Standards. And that you have talked with your trainer on expectations and your readiness for the exam.
