Course Description:

What do Level 3 skiers do that the rest of us are working toward? The differences typically show up in how turns are initiated and completed, how speed and edge angle are managed, how varied terrain is handled, and how consistent and fluid the movements are throughout. This clinic digs into those patterns: efficient weight transfer and balance, dynamic edging control, coordinated upper and lower body movement, adaptable turn shape and size, and pole plant timing that is assertive but smooth.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this clinic, participants will be able to:

– Name what separates the levels – Identify the specific techniques and tactics that distinguish advanced skiing from intermediate skiing.

– Describe the key movement patterns – Explain five movement patterns a skier must develop to progress toward the Level 3 standard.

– Feel them in your own skiing – Perform tasks that isolate each pattern and describe the change in ski performance produced.

– Connect pattern to standard – Explain how developing these patterns builds toward the skills assessed at Level 3.

• Alpine focused. Geared toward instructors working toward Level 3. Earns continuing education credit (CEUs).
