Course Description:

The Adaptive Cognitive Level 3 On-Snow Assessment evaluates cognitive-disability teaching at the PSIA-AASI Adaptive Level 3 National Standard. Level 3 candidates are expected to handle the widest range of student needs, mentor other instructors, and articulate the reasoning behind every adaptation they make.

WHAT TO EXPECT

– Complex student profiles – Design and deliver lessons for students with significant cognitive involvement, co-occurring conditions, or challenging behaviors.

– Expert adaptation – Modify terrain, equipment, task, language and environment in real time, and explain the rationale for each change.

– Leadership – Direct volunteers, aides and family members effectively as part of the teaching team.

Adaptive Level 2 certification is a prerequisite. Review the PSIA-NW Adaptive Certification Guide and bring a completed development log.
