PSIA-AASI NORTHWEST

EVENT CALENDAR

The calendar is still being updated with events, please continue to check back for updates.

If at any time you have questions please call/text us 206-244-8541 or email info@psia-nw.org.

We are seeing things opening back up, follow any policies at the resort, if not sure, ask. Please check our COVID page for any updates due to the virus. If you don’t feel well, let us know and stay home.

And the usual, we make every effort to run all events. If the event you are registering for cancels for any reason, we will notify you.

Education Credits

Continuing education (CEU) events are designed to help you learn and grow as a snowsports professional. They also serve as an opportunity for you to keep up-to-date on the latest techniques and trends in your discipline. Every certified member of the NW Division is required to attend at least 6 CEU each season (usually one day on snow).

All events, online sessions, etc. will list the number of CEUs provided.

Note on Education Credits

You may only accrue up to 12 CEU; i.e. if you attend a one-day event in January for 6 credits, then take an exam in March which provides 12 credits, the total credits will be 18, and take care of things for the current season and the next. You can always check your credits by looking at your profile at thesnowpros.org.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Full refund less $30 admin fee for cancellation 10 business days from event (no transfer of registration to another person)
  • No refund for cancellation less than 10 business days from event (no transfer of registration to another person)
  • No show, no refunds
  • No transfer of event registrations between individuals
  • To transfer an event for yourself, send the request 14 days before original registered event, and as long as there is room, we will complete the transfer.
  • Admin fees are non-refundable

Request for Non-PSIA-AASI Credit

To receive credit for a non-PSIA-AASI event, we require our members to submit a request for approval of the event at least 30 days in advance. The request must provide us with details of what the event will entail and its duration. Complete the online form for approval HERE.

The “Outside” credit policy allows members to count certain non-PSIA-AASI functions towards continuing educational credit, contingent upon pre-approval, and an administration fee. It is important to remember this request can only be used once every three seasons. The purpose of this policy is to allow members who wish to broaden their base of experience to do so, while at the same time meet their continuing education requirements. Please note, requests need to be completed for participation or attendance of outside events occurring in the current season.

We appreciate your feedback on events to help us continue to create and improve programs and experiences for you.

Course Description (NW – Training):

Member School Trainer Program

This program was created to support our schools, and their trainers, in supporting their staff. At the start of each season, schools send a list of their approved trainers to register for the program.

Content for the season-long training is set and trainers are able to participate in any, or all, the sessions. Through this program, trainers come away with information to take back to their school to support their school training in things such as movement analysis, technical understanding, observation, evaluation, prescription, review of national standards and interpreting them, to name just a few.

To be eligible to register for this program, you need to be an approved trainer by your school director.

Additional Event Details:

What is the Trainer Program?*

Great question, what is the school trainer program?

This program was created to support our schools, and their trainers (need to be an Alpine Level 3 or Snowboard Level 2), in supporting their staff. At the start of each season, schools send a list of their trainers to register for the program.

Content for the season-long training is set and trainers are able to participate in any, or all, the sessions**. Through this program, trainers come away with information to take back to their school to support their training in things such as movement analysis, technical understanding, observation, evaluation, prescription, review of national standards and interpreting them, to name just a few.

*You need to be an approved trainer by your school director/manager to participate in this program. And to participate in symposium sessions, you will need to have participated in two on-snow sessions from December – March, it is not available as a day purchase.

**When registering, you will only be able to do it once, so if you select something you aren’t able to participate in, you will need to contact info@psia-nw.org or text 206.244.8541 to let us know a week before to cancel you. And if your schedule opens up and you’re able to participate in something and want to add, again email or text us two weeks out, and we will add you if there is space.
