Course Description:
Ski Only – When conditions change through the day it is important to know what to do with your students: the what, the how, and the why. We will spend the day adapting to spring conditions with our ski performance and body movements, and looking at the full range of adaptive skiers we work with. This clinic will give you skills for more success on the mountain in your own skiing, and those skills transfer directly to your teaching.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this clinic, participants will be able to:
– Read changing spring snow – Recognize how corn, slush, refreeze, and heavy wet snow each change ski behavior over the course of a day.
– Adapt your own skiing – Adjust tactics, edge angle, and pressure management to stay efficient as conditions change.
– Adapt the adaptive lesson – Modify terrain, timing, equipment, and tethering decisions for stand-up and sit-ski students in spring conditions.
Ski only. Open to all certification levels; adaptive experience helpful but not required. Earns continuing education credit (CEUs).
