Course Description:
Remote Movement Analysis 201 – Prescription
Develop and hone your prescription skills in the second course of the PSIA-NW Remote MA offering. Remote MA 201 – Prescription is the follow-up to Remote MA 101 – Observation and Evaluation. Over four weeks you will practice a variety of ways to approach prescription through a guided review of film selections with an experienced MA facilitator, and explore how to deliver that prescription effectively.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
– Build a prescription from evidence – Move from an accurate evaluation to a specific change that addresses the cause rather than the symptom.
– Choose the right intervention – Select from tasks, terrain, imagery, and equipment adjustments to match the skier and the desired outcome.
– Deliver prescription effectively – Frame feedback so the skier understands what to change, why it matters, and how they will know it worked.
Four weekly online sessions. Remote MA 101 is recommended as a prerequisite. Earns continuing education credit (CEUs).
Attendance for all 4-weeks (one session can be missed, and homework will be assigned to be completed to attain CEUs).
Make sure you will be able to participate fully by ensuring all of your technology is properly setup. We will be using Zoom. You can find a list of requirements at https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0060748#h_d278c327-e03d-4896-b19a-96a8f3c0c69c
- System – Laptop, computer, or large tablet (with stand) that gives you enough screen space to see the videos and each other. A phone will not have enough screen space for this class.
- Video Camera – Built in or separate. If you don’t have a camera – Logitech is a good brand with some less expensive options on Amazon
- Microphone – Built-in computer microphones are ok, but you will have a better experience with a headset or earbuds
- Internet Speed – For our class you should have at a minimum of 2Mbps/2Mbps (up/down).
Additional Event Details:
We will need 12 participants in order for this session to run. You will be notified ahead if we do not have the registrations needed to run this session.
To receive your continuing education credits, participation in all events is necessary (you are able to do homework for one session for a makeup).
