Course Description:

A one-day, on-snow telemark clinic designed specifically to improve your telemark skiing and your teaching. Free the heel and free your mind – these clinics are open to instructors at every certification level, including alpine and nordic instructors curious about tele.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this event, participants will be able to:

– Improve a targeted aspect of your telemark skiing – Apply clinician feedback to make a specific, felt change during the day.

– Connect the day’s theme to the fundamentals – Explain the topic in terms of the Telemark Fundamentals and the ski/snow outcome it produces.

– Leave with usable material – Describe drills or tactics from the day that you can apply in your own skiing and with students.

WHAT TO EXPECT

– Rotating topics – Themes vary by date and location and may include lead change timing, telemark carving, steeps and bumps on tele gear, backcountry and XCD applications, or teaching the first-time telemark student.

– Coaching, not testing – A supportive, non-assessed setting with feedback from a divisional clinic leader.

– Practical takeaways – Drills and progressions you can use in your own lessons immediately.

Open to all PSIA-AASI members. Earns continuing education credit (CEUs). Check the PSIA-NW event calendar for current dates, venues and topics.
