Course Description:
Technical Team Training is the ongoing development program for members of the PSIA-NW Technical Team. Technical Team members serve as the division’s demonstration and technical resource, so training focuses on demonstration precision, technical depth and the ability to present to fellow professionals.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this event, participants will be able to:
– Perform to divisional staff standard – Demonstrate skiing or riding and teaching at the level expected of Technical Team members.
– Deliver training to peers – Present a clinic segment to an audience of examiners and staff and take direct feedback on it.
– Represent current direction – Describe the division’s current technical and teaching emphases accurately enough to teach them to members.
WHAT TO EXPECT
– Demonstration standard – Refine skiing and riding to the accuracy required for public and professional demonstration.
– Technical depth – Go well beyond exam-level understanding of the fundamentals, skills concepts and current National Standards.
– Presentation and clinic craft – Develop the ability to lead sessions for experienced instructors and represent the division credibly.
– Team calibration – Train together so the team presents a consistent technical message across the division.
