Course Description:

What to expect :

– To have FUN

– Learn teaching tools for daily kids lessons

– Insight into Games with a Purpose (GWAP)

– Be prepared to participate and interact in engaging group discussions, activities, and problem solving solutions when coaching kids

– More understanding of the Children’s Specialist program and what is expected during the event

Who is this for:

– Anyone wanting to gain more knowledge about how kids think, feel and move

– The ages and stages of development Cognitive Affective Physical (CAP) Model

– Anyone interested in a primer for the Children’s Specialist 1 or 2 (CS)

– This clinic will include Games With A Purpose (GWAP)

– All disciplines are welcome

– No certification is necessary

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this event, participants will be able to:

– Choose age-appropriate activities – Select games, drills and story-based tasks that match a specific age group’s cognitive, affective and physical stage.

– Manage a children’s group – Apply grouping, pacing and transition strategies that keep children safe, engaged and moving.

– Communicate with children and parents – Adjust language and feedback for a child, and report progress to a parent clearly.

This clinic is only for Montana ski instructors, it is sponsored and supported by Montana Ski Areas Association.

Whitefish is supporting with lift tickets for those who do not have a pass at the area.
