Course Description:
Building on the format of our popular Remote MA courses, this on-snow day explores the full range of Movement Analysis using the same structure as the online sessions. Haven’t taken the online course? No problem – you can still participate on snow.
During the clinic, a specific activity is defined and demonstrated, and participants collectively work out the equipment and body performance needed to perform it successfully. Multiple iterations are then observed, each building on the last, with Observations, Evaluations, and Prescriptions following from what is seen. Participants get repeated opportunities to share with the group and receive input from the clinician.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this clinic, participants will be able to:
– Observe and share out loud – Describe what you see in front of the group, using accurate and specific language rather than judgment.
– Separate observation from evaluation – State what a skier is doing, then evaluate the relationship between body movement and tool/snow outcome.
– Prescribe for a defined activity – Recommend a change directed at more accurate and efficient performance of the specific activity being observed.
– Build across iterations – Track a skier over multiple attempts and adjust your evaluation and prescription as performance changes.
- Telemark focused. Open to all certification levels. Earns continuing education credit (CEUs).
