Course Description:

The Cross Country Level 1 On-Snow Exam is often the first PSIA-NW event a nordic instructor attends. Level 1 events are referred to as exams/clinics because there is a strong education focus alongside the assessment – the main purpose is to begin your educational process as a nordic teaching professional.

WHAT TO EXPECT

– Written and on-snow components – The Level 1 exam includes both a written element and an on-snow element.

– Teaching and technical skills – Demonstrate beginner-through-novice classic and skate progressions, sound personal technique, and the ability to describe what you see in a student’s skiing.

– Education focus – Expect coaching and clarification throughout the day, not just evaluation.

Current PSIA-AASI membership is required. Review the PSIA-NW Nordic Membership and Track Exam Guide before attending. Certification earned here is recognized across the country.

In order to register for the on-snow, you will need to have completed the Cross Country Level I e-learning course which can be found at lms.thesnowpros.org (login with your user name and password).
