Course Description:

Alpine Remote Movement Analysis 101

Remote Movement Analysis 101 – Observation and Evaluation

Build your observation and evaluation skills in this introductory and interactive 4-week course with an experienced PSIA-NW MA facilitator. Each session you will expand your abilities through a guided review of a series of film clips selected to build accuracy in identifying tool snow interactions related to a wide variety of intended outcomes. After gaining basic proficiency in the observation realm, you will learn how to accurately identify cause and effect relationships between body movements and tool snow outcomes. Each session will provide opportunities to hone your terminology and delivery using break-out discussion pods and whole class summaries. Look forward to seeing you there.

Prerequisites:

Attendance for all 4-weeks.

Attendance at a 30 minute tech testing session (if everything is working, the test will just take a few minutes). This is mandatory and provides an opportunity for you to log on and test out your equipment, troubleshoot things with the clinician, and make sure everything is in good working order before the first class.

Make sure you will be able to participate fully by ensuring all of your technology is properly setup. Minimum requirements are:

  • System – Laptop, computer, or large tablet (with stand) that gives you enough screen space to see the videos and each other. A phone will not be enough screen space for this class.
  • Video Camera – Built in or separate. If you don’t have a camera – Logitech is a good brand with some less expensive options on Amazon
  • Microphone – built in computer microphones are terrible for video calls so you will need a headset or nice pair of earbuds with a microphone attached.
  • Internet Speed – The video call software we will be using is Zoom. It has recommendations here. For our class you should have at a minimum of 1.5Mbps/1.5Mbps (up/down).

Additional Event Details:

We will need 12 participants in order for this session to run. You will be notified ahead if we do not have the registrations needed to run this session.
